Over 240,000 couples will be denied the right to celebrate their union
Over 1,000,000 independent wedding professionals will lose their jobs
If we don’t act …
WE DEMAND GUIDELINES.
It’s been nearly a year since wedding receptions have been prohibited in the state of California. Since then, over 50 industries have either been allowed to reopen or have been issued State guidance on a timeline for a safe reopening. We have received neither.
Enough is enough.
We deserve the same dignity and respect countless other industries have already received.
We deserve recognition.
We demand guidelines.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE
California’s prohibition of weddings has ravaged our livelihoods too.
The good news is that CAPE has hired a lobbyist who is currently negotiating with the State on behalf of our cherished industry.
However, without YOUR voice, weddings may not come back in 2021…
and your favorite florist, venue, caterer, DJ, photographer, may never recover.
TOGETHER WE WILL MAKE THE DIFFERENCE.
Whether you are a couple whose wedding plans keep getting pushed back with no end in sight or an industry professional whose livelihood is on the brink, the fact remains: Marriage is a constitutional right and California’s unwillingness to issue our storied tradition so much as a timeline for a safe reopening is negligent and borderline unconscionable.
We are asking you and everyone you know to upload a 0:15sec-1:00min story to our website, describing how the ban on wedding receptions has impacted you. We’ll be compiling these into a reel and sharing it with legislators on a TBD date during the 1st quarter of 2021, which we will be designating as #SAVEWEDDINGSNOW day!
We’ll be keeping in touch with you and remind you to share your video/posts on your personal social media channels utilizing the #SaveWeddingsNow hashtag — together we will ensure that our voices our heard!
